HIPAA Changes 2024 - Essential Updates and Key Information

90 Minutes

Recorded Webinar

Overview

This 90-minute webinar will be addressing how practice/business managers (or compliance offers) need to comply with current changes with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). The webinar will address major changes under the Privacy and Security Rule, new congressional mandates, and other applicable updates for 2024 and beyond. The webinar will also address new guidance on telemedicine, texting, emailing, the 21st Century Cures Act (Information Blocking), major geo-political risks to PHI data, and changes relating to the Dobbs vs Jackson ruling.

There are an enormous number of issues and risks for covered entities and business associates these days as there have been more breaches of PHI data (and consequently more OCR audits) over the last 2 years than the entire history of this regulation dating back to 1996– we will speak to the most common violations and fines – and how to best avoid potential HIPAA headaches.
